Manuka Pharm Joints supplement has been designed to support the normal function of bones, cartilage and muscle for increased flexibility. Read on for our guide on how each ingredient has been included to help:

CBD Isolate (4200MG 70MG Per Capsule)
Early research supports the idea that CBD may help with joint pain.  A 2020 study found that CBD has anti-arthritic activity and may help symptoms by targeting the cells that drive inflammation. [4] A 2019 study indicates that CBD helped improve markers of inflammation, pain, and nerve damage in an animal model of osteoarthritis. [5] A 2015 study also found that CBD may reduce pain and inflammation in a rat model of arthritis. [6]

Anecdotal evidence also supports the theory that CBD may help with joint pain. A recent poll from The Arthritis Foundation asked over 2,600 people with arthritis about their experience using CBD. According to their poll, 94% of those who use CBD say they use it to relieve pain. Additionally, 67% of the participants reported improvements in their overall physical functioning from taking CBD. [7]

The CBD in Manuka Pharm Joints supplement is CBD Isolate which is guaranteed to have 0% THC and no other cannabinoids from the cannabis plant.  Each batch is independently tested and certified and is fully traceable from seed to shelf.

Manuka honey (MGO 300)
This high-strength honey – made by bees collecting nectar from New Zealand Manuka bushes – contains the active ingredient methylglyoxal (MGO), which has an antimicrobial [1] and also anti-bacterial effect on the body, according to a 2018 study by Ulster University. [2] Our Manuka honey is harvested from Manuka Pharm hives high in the New Zealand mountains, and then freeze-dried into powder.

In a 2009 German and New Zealand study, researchers suggested honey could speed up the healing process because: [3]
• honey stimulates the inflammatory response in the body, leading to the regeneration of skin cells and connective tissues
• the pH level of honey is very low, which reduces infection

Vitamin C
Manuka Pharm Joints supplement contains your daily requirement of vitamin C, found in many fruit and vegetables, including peppers, citrus fruits, broccoli and berries. [8]

This nutrient has a critical role when it comes to our joints and bones. According to the European Food Safety Authority, vitamin C is needed to activate the work of enzymes making collagen – a protein in our bodies which binds cells together to provide structure and strength, and is found in skin, blood vessels, bones, gums, tendons and cartilage. [9]

Vitamin D
In England, the NHS recommends everybody take a vitamin D supplement daily to avoid deficiencies caused by a lack of sunlight. [10]

According to the European Commission [11], Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and muscle function.

In addition, the NHS recommend that you take a daily supplement if you:

  • Are not often outdoors – for example, if you're frail or housebound
  • Are in an institution like a care home
  • Usually wear clothes that cover up most of your skin when outdoors
  • If you have dark skin

Glucosamine
A 2018 review of studies, published in Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, reported that glucosamine may ease stiffness in people with osteoarthritis. [12]

Turmeric
This kitchen spice is also a herb used in Indian and Ayurvedic medicine for digestion, aches and pains, [13] and for its anti-inflammatory effects. [14]

Nowadays, it’s been shown that turmeric may indeed curb inflammation, thanks to its active ingredient – a natural plant chemical called curcumin. It works by curbing enzymes and other proteins that trigger inflammation in the body, according to a 2013 study by Korean researchers. [15] As a result, it’s thought curcumin may help reduce wear and tear on joints and cartilage: a 2016 study in Journal of Medicinal Food found that curcumin may help ease joint stiffness in people with arthritis.
